Biography

Alexander Simkanich

Alexander, Simkanich b. in 1984, in the city of Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod (Gorky) region in a military family.  From the age of 11 he began to go to the music club at the house of Officers (Khabarovsk), and then to the Central music school, where he showed his musical abilities. Not knowing the theoretical musical literacy, Sasha could already pick up and write on the notes of the works of classics (Approx.: in the 3rd grade, he played a fragment of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata to his piano teacher, but because of the piano half-tone, he had to pick it up and play it in C minor). By this time Sasha had already written several compositions for piano. I must say that from childhood the young composer began to form his own original style , his attraction to romantic and fantasy genres.  This is indicated by the names of his first works: Night, Fantasy, Strange love, etc.the Lack of at that time a great musical experience and Outlook can be and played a role in the formation of the creative original credo of the young composer, based on the internal intuitive hearing, the desire to fix and convey personal experiences in music.

With the admission to the College of music (piano class V. Budnikov), Alexander began a professional milestone in his musical career. The undoubted advantage in education was that Sasha studied at the pop-jazz Department and with great interest studied jazz music, which of course, could not but affect the style in writing. The peak of composing activity in this period was the performance of his own work (jazz waltz) at the state exam.

After leaving his native College, Alexander decides to enter the UNIVERSITY. By chance, the jazz band, I had to wait to fully dive into the world of strict classic music, the world of academic music. Having studied for only six months in the far Eastern Academy of arts (class of prof. S. Eisenstadt), Alexander was forced to change his place of residence and go to another city, where he could continue his studies. Such a city, fortunately, was Nizhny Novgorod (Approx.: the birthplace of the composer). Here, in the Conservatory, Alexander receives excellent piano education (Professor Y. Barakin ) and composition (B. Getselev - student Rodion Shchedrin).

Since 2013 Alexander has been living and working in Moscow. He writes music for piano, orchestras, various ensembles, takes part in creative projects both as a composer and as a performer. An integral part of musical creativity is also a passion for electronic music (will soon appear on Internet platforms)
